Field Trip / Outings Policy

Outings can offer exciting learning experiences beyond the classroom. When applicable, we ensure every trip is safe, well-supervised, and fully communicated with families. If field trips are not part of our current program, this policy explains our on-site focus and how you’ll be notified of any special events.

Below is our approach to planning field trips, securing permission, and ensuring child safety—or our policy if no field trips are offered.

🚌 If Field Trips Are Offered

  • Parents will receive advance notice of any field trip, including date, time, location, cost (if any), and transportation method.

  • A signed permission slip is required for each outing.

  • Staff will bring emergency contact forms and a first aid kit on all trips.

  • ·We maintain child/staff ratios per DCFS licensing rules during trips.

  • Transportation is only provided using licensed vehicles/third-party providers/staff vehicles if allowed.

🧺 On-Site Alternatives

  • If field trips are not part of our program, we will offer special on-site events (e.g., guest speakers, in-house activities, outdoor exploration).

  • Families will still be notified in advance of these events.

Whether we’re exploring the wider world or bringing enrichment into our classrooms, your child’s safety and enjoyment are our top priorities. We’ll always keep you informed about special activities.
